Order of the Bookish

Hi, I'm Tia!

Author. Book lover. Indie author cheerleader. Founder of Order of the Bookish. I've always loved books, but I never imagined I'd end up running my own little corner of the publishing world. Today, I spend my days helping indie authors find readers, build ARC teams, and bring their books into the world. And somewhere along the way, I became a published author myself! But that's not exactly where my story started.

I Wanted to Discover the Next Twilight

I graduated from Chestnut Hill College with majors in Literature and Communications and minors in Business and Film.

My dream? To become a literary agent and discover the next Twilight.

I tried everything to break into traditional publishing. I applied for internships, reached out through my professors, and even pursued entry-level positions just to get my foot in the door.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to get in.

Eventually, I decided to put that dream on hold, spend some time traveling, focus on myself, and, of course, read A LOT of books.

It All Started With a Book Blog

In 2022, I decided to revisit something I’d loved doing in middle school: book blogging.

By then, I’d gained enough marketing experience to think I could turn my love of reading into a little side income through affiliate marketing.

So I started Books4Movies, a blog where I could share my love of stories while exploring the business side of books.

What I didn’t expect was how many wonderful indie authors I’d meet along the way.

I started helping authors with their marketing, sharing ideas, and supporting their book launches. Eventually, authors began offering to pay me for my help.

And that’s when I realized something.

Maybe I didn’t need to work for a publishing company to build a career in publishing.

I could create my own.

And that’s how Order of the Bookish was born.

Somewhere Along the Way, I Became an Author

I’d always loved writing, but for years, I had nothing more than unfinished stories and scattered ideas.

Working with indie authors changed that.

I met so many talented, encouraging people who inspired me to finally sit down and finish a book of my own.

That book became Realm of Khaos, my first published fantasy novel.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just helping authors navigate the publishing world. I was experiencing it myself.

From writing and publishing to recruiting ARC readers and preparing for launch, I began to understand firsthand just how much work goes into getting a book into readers’ hands.

And that experience has made me even more passionate about helping other authors.

My Favorite Part? The Readers.

Of everything I do at Order of the Bookish, building and managing ARC teams is easily my favorite.

I love bringing readers and authors together, organizing campaigns, communicating with my reader community, and watching a book go from an unpublished manuscript to a story people are genuinely excited to talk about.

That’s also why I created Bookish Boosters, a growing community of readers who love discovering and supporting authors.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping an author find people who are excited to read their book, especially when they’re struggling to reach readers on their own.

It’s the part of my business that makes me excited to get to work every morning.

When I'm Not Working...

You’ll probably find me traveling, reading, writing my next fantasy novel, or spending time with my dog, Kova.

I love exploring new places, discovering new stories, and finding little pockets of inspiration wherever I go.

And while my career looks nothing like the one I imagined in college, I wouldn’t trade the incredible authors, readers, and stories I’ve discovered along the way.

I may not have become the literary agent I originally dreamed of being, but I still get to help amazing books find their readers.

And honestly, that’s pretty close to the dream.

Thanks for being part of my little bookish world!

— Tia
